Handicaps:
All players must have a valid handicap and be certified by the match committee.
Maximum: The maximum handicap index and playing handicap for this competition will be 36. Any player with a higher handicap index than 36 will be assessed as a 36-playing handicap.
Handicap Indexes: Each player is responsible for ensuring that the match committee is given the correct and most recent handicap index information prior to the event. This includes the handicapping system used.
Playing Handicap: The playing handicap for each day’s play will be rounded up or down according to the player’s handicap index eg. 4.5 – 5.4 = 5.
Handicap Adjustment: The match committee will have the right to adjust daily handicaps according to the previous days stableford score. Handicap adjustments will be calculated as follows:
- 0.2 will be deducted from a player’s handicap index each day for each stableford point above 36 points in a round
- 0.2 will be added to the players handicap index each day for a stableford point score below 36 points in a round
Competition Format:
Single Stableford for each day with daily prize money in 2 divisions and 4 x NTPs each day.
The overall Hua Hin Cup prize winners will be determined by a Merit Point System.
Countback System
In the case of a tie during a daily competition, the R&A countback system based on stableford points will be used ie. last 9 holes, last 6 holes, last 3 holes.
In the case of a tie for the Hua Hin Cup, the match committee will use the last Merit Points awarded. Ie. 4th day, 3rd day, 2nd day, 1st day
MERIT SYSTEM
The WINNER will be awarded to the player who accumulates the most “Merit” points over the 4 days of competition. Points will be awarded to each player subject to the stableford score position for each days play on days 1, 2 & 3. Points on the final day will be awarded subject to the stableford score position of the entire field.
The points will be awarded as follows:
25 – to the highest stableford score/s on Day 1, 2 & 3 in each division. To the highest score/s on Day 4 (only 1 division)
